Joomla to WordPress Migration

Last night I launched the new website for the Finesse Fastpitch Softball Club – found here in my Portfolio.  I originally used Joomla for their website, which served its purpose for many years. The new website and design was created in WordPress. 

Although I refer to the change as a migration, the truth is it is that the process is more like a rebuild. Some of the content from the old site could be done by copy and paste, followed by a little clean up. The majority of what is seen on the new site has been newly created. We took the opportunity to do some house cleaning along with the updates. The new website design has been well received.

As college coaches pour over the team pages in search of recruits, the ease of navigation was prioritized, making it simple to browse. The site is mobile friendly and looks great on cell phones and tablets thanks to its responsive design. These are sometimes tedious and time consuming, but appreciated by its many visitors.  You can see the before look (Joomla) in my Portfolio and the new design is live.
