Softball Club Website Design
My name is Greg Cruthers, the founder of Cruthers Enterprises, and I am ready to design and maintain your new softball club website. It’s no coincidence that I’ve created numerous softball club websites, because I understand the sport. My roots are in fastpitch softball. FireStix Fastpitch, Finesse Fastpitch, and Michigan Storm are a few of my sites (see our Portfolio page). They are helping coaches, parents, and players with their Softball Journeys.
I coached my daughters in little league, helped coach the varsity team, and coached several travel softball teams. Fastpitch softball is growing in popularity. Every year new clubs and teams are popping up all over the place. You’re likely reading this because you’re either in need of a new web site or a better one.
In fact, I wrote the book on youth softball, Softball Journey, which you might be interested in. My experience in fastpitch has proven very helpful to my softball club website customers.
The First Softball Program Web Site
I was frustrated with the terrible web sites my daughter’s clubs had when they were playing travel softball. I have 25+ years of IT and web design experience, so I created a web site for their school. The website was for the entire softball program, from the youth league through the varsity team and became instantly popular.
The First Softball Club Web Site
The next site was for my youngest daughter’s softball club Finesse Fastpitch. Their old site was on one of those free website platforms. They are difficult to manage, are filled with pop-up ads, and look hideous. The club president and senior coaches praised the new design. It received many compliments from college coaches, because the navigation made it easy to find the information.
Since then, club directors, board members, coaches, and parents have contacted me about my website design and maintenance services. I maintain many softball club websites today, updating their teams, rosters, coaches, college commitments, sponsors, fundraisers, tournaments, etc. I also help them to accept player and tournament fees through their websites.
In the beginning I thought the travel ball clubs whose sites I created could get volunteers to make the required annual updates. However, a few years later many were struggling to keep up their websites. Common problems came when players left clubs, didn’t make the team the following year, lost interest in the game, etc. and their parents, who volunteered to take care of the web site, left too. The result was being hired to clean up and maintain their websites.
The Other Softball Club Websites
I strongly suggest club directors do not use parents of players to take care of their websites. Although they have good intentions, they usually fail to keep up. Other issues comes from their lack of knowledge in making site updates ranging from font colors, over-sized text, and galleries of non-optimized pictures. These are not part of the website theme and slows the loading of pages tremendously, which in time makes the site look like a 5-year old designed it.
This is why the majority of softball club websites I design includes my maintenance services for one full year. After the first year I give my customers a quote for maintaining their websites for the next year, based on how busy they kept me the previous year. This process has worked out very well for the softball clubs and me.
I look forward to discussing the needs of your softball club and am certain I can be of service to you, saving you time, frustration, and money, while putting the best face on your organization. Every year when parents search for clubs for their daughters to play for, your club will stand out from the crowd with one of my website designs. And I’ll make the updates to your web sites timely and professionally.
