FireStix Fastpitch Club Website Design
I created this faspitch club website design while I was a coach and board member of FireStix Fastpitch. I detailed my connection to the world of travel softball in the post, Softball Club Web Sites. My real world experience helps me to create fastpitch softball club websites quickly, which are effective and most useful.
I don’t have to ask these customers what the most important aspects of the website are. I know and remind them if they stray. For example, while it might seem like a good idea to insert the dozens of pictures and video clips onto their 10u team’s page, it’s not. It will cause the page to load slowly, eat bandwidth and server resources, and look like an old myspace page.
Multiple Sources of Information
One of the main reasons club softball exists is to provide players the opportunity to improve their skills. The second priority is to help players with potential get recruited to play college softball. The club provides the team rosters on the website, which promotes or essentially markets each player to college coaches.
Most clubs used to provide players with their own page with their recruiting profile on their websites. Today the majority use a recruiting service like my friend Brian’s website, College Bound Jocks. Each player’s name on a team’s roster is linked to their profile on the recruiting website. This helps the club, since they don’t have to maintain player’s individual pages anymore.
